Slipknot Stabbing - The guitarist of Grammy award-winning heavy rock band Slipknot was stabbed in the head by his younger brother on Wednesday morning during a domestic dispute in his home in Clive, Iowa.
According to KCCI NEWS, 41 years old Mickael Gordon Thomson (who is popularly known as Mick Thomson) was involved in a brawl with his younger brother Andrew at his property on the 1900 block of 129th Street in the early hours of Wednesday.
The incident, which reportedly began indoors, was dragged to the front yard, before a caller tipped the police that the brothers were fighting with knives.
Local police say both men suffered non-life threatening injuries. However, besides the stab wound to the back of Mick Thomson's head, the nature of their other injuries is unclear. Mick Thomson and his brother were reportedly taken to the hospital in separate ambulances. Police say both men appeared to be intoxicated. At this moment, it is unclear what caused the bloody altercation. Reports indicate that the police is investigating the incident.
Mick Thomson, who is known as number 'Seven' in Slipknot, has been with the band since they released their earliest projects in the nineties. In the band's pictures, he can be spotted flaunting the number seven, which is tattooed across his left arm.
With the release of their highly anticipated fifth studio album 5: The Gray Chapter in October last year, Slipknot reclaimed the coveted accolade of being one of the most popular heavy metal bands in the country. The band will kick off a major world tour at Fort Meyers, Florida this April before heading off to Europe for more performances.
The manager of Slipknot has confirmed the news of Mick Thomson's stabbing injury, but has noted that it will not affect the band's upcoming tour.
