Veteran actors Tom Cruise and John Travolta recently made headlines after a U.S. tabloid featured them in a manner that's very unusual from what they are known for. Star, the American tabloid, has claimed that the "Mission Impossible" actor and the "Grease" star shared a secret gay romance that lasted for three decades.
Star's latest cover issue screams, "Tom and John 30 Year Gay Secret" on top of an altered snap of Tom Cruise and John Travolta. The front-page also features a photo of Kelly Preston looking distressed and three bold allegations against the two actors: "Their private weeklong getaway," "John's bizarre obsession with Tom" and "What does Kelly know?"
In a report published by Jezebel, the publication claimed that Tom Cruise and John Travolta shared a gay romance that lasted for 30 years. And it all started when the latter had a huge interest for the handsome Cruise after seeing him in "Risky Business."
Travolta then reportedly invited Cruise to join him in a private getaway in Oregon. To be specific, they both went into a Scientology school where they spent the whole week together.
A source even dished that the get-together was "a life-changing event for Tom, if not for the two of them." Star's insider further claimed that Tom Cruise and John Travolta met for a dinner first at an expensive French restaurant in Beverly Hills before they headed to enjoy some alone time in Oregon.
The sources also added that Cruise's bonding with Travolta thirty years ago help support the "Top Gun" actor's conversion to Scientology.
Meanwhile, a new documentary about Scientology entitled, "Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief," is set to premiere on HBO on March 29. The documentary features 61-year-old Travolta and his journey as a Scientology believer.
"Going Clear" is based on Lawrence Wright's 2013 book of the same title. The said documentary is directed by Alex Gibney.
As of late, it cannot be confirmed whether the obscene claims of the tabloid have the slightest tinge of integrity at all, Classicalite reported.
Despite what the tabloid implied about the two veteran Hollywood actors, Gossip Cop revealed that the 52-year-old "Mission Impossible" star and Travolta did not have a three-decade secret gay relationship.
The site, which is famous for exposing fabricated tabloid stories from factual ones, insisted that Star just pulled a shocking publicity stunt to sell as many copies of their latest issue as much as possible.
An insider for Gossip Cop even called the Star's cover story on Cruise and Travolta's alleged gay romance "ridiculous." Both Tom Cruise and John Travolta have yet to comment on the issue.
