Louis Tomlinson is indeed a soon-to-be dad, music tycoon Simon Cowell confirmed. As said by the 55-year-old famed television talent judge and mentor, the 23-year-old One Direction band member sought for him immediately after finding out that Los Angeles-based stylist Briana Jungwirth was pregnant.
Simon Cowell is adamant that Louis Tomlinson's baby news won't affect One Direction's image and career. And the "X-Factor" boss' confirmation came after 1D bandmate Liam Payne clued the pregnancy news by discussing baby names during their show in Vancouver, Canada on Friday, NZ Herald noted.
"He didn't kill anyone," Cowell said. "He got someone pregnant. It happens every day all over the world. Again, Louis has got great family around him and, look, it's a plus, not a negative."
In addition, Simon Cowell also shared a piece of advice to Louis Tomlinson as he is set to become a father.
"I said to him, 'You man up. You're fortunate because you're in a position to be able to look after the baby and not worry too much about that,'" Cowell said during an interview with a Sunday newspaper. "But I also told him, 'I've received bad calls in my life but this is not one of them. This is your business but I'm here for you.'"
While the baby news won't tarnish the image of Louis Tomlinson and the Brit boyband, Simon Cowell hinted that they might be taking a year-long break next year.
"In terms of the band, they've got enough hits now they can take some time off and do some other stuff they want to do," Cowell stated. "Then I hope they'll have a little bit of time apart and want to get back together again. It's a fun job, but it's absolutely their decision."
In early June, it was reported that One Direction could be going on a year-long break next year after promoting their fifth album, to be released at the end of 2015. However, a rep for the band told Billboard there was no truth to that. On the same month, One D's Harry Styles told Ryan Seacrest that the group was hard at work on their forthcoming album. While Zayn Malik announced his departure from the band in late March.
Meanwhile, Louis Tomlinson is reportedly saving up several million pounds to buy Briana and his baby, who will be due in early February, a home in Los Angeles. According to Daily Mirror, the brief fling could cost him as much as £10 million. It was also revealed that he's facing a maintenance bill worth £20,000 monthly until the child is 18.
"This is a case of a very short-term thing that will end up costing Louis around £10million," an insider said. "But he knows this is his responsibility."
Currently, Louis Tomlinson is house-hunting in well-secured subdivisions in the LA suburbs, where a modest home is likely to cost around £4 million. He is also looking at having 24/7 security.
