Spider-Man has a new team of cast and writers for its upcoming movie reboot.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, writers of the "Vacation," are in early talks to write the film's reboot, Irish Examiner has learned. The duo was initially shortlisted as contenders to direct the movie, but the job was given to Jon Watts.
Daley, 30, and Goldstein, 46, became popular for their works on "Horrible Bosses 1 and 2," "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" and "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone."
Goldstein is known to have produced television series. Among those he had produced were "Four Kings," "Teachers" and "The New Adventures of Old Christine."
Daley also has television series credits. As an actor, he played the role of John in "Yo Gabba Gabba!" and was known as Dr. Lance Sweet in "Bones" and "The Finder."
Meanwhile, "Wolf Hall" actor Tom Holland, will be playing the role of Peter Parker, Entertainment Weekly confirmed. It has been reported that Sony, Marvel and the producers of the "Spider-Man" reboot found Holland's screen tests special.
Marisa Tomei is being considered to play the role of Aunt May, Parker's guardian. There are no words yet on who's going to play the role of Mary Jane.
Before the "Spider-Man" reboot, Holland will appear in "Captain America: Civil War," as per the report of Today.
The film will be set in high school, just like the "Amazing Spider-Man." There are speculations though that this time, Marvel will move away from the comics and skip the origin of the story, according to Cinemablend.
It has also been predicted that Spider-Man may fight Iron Man after "Civil War" because of the anti-superhuman legislation. The aftermath of this conflict will eventually lead the web-slinger hero to join Avengers.
Spidey's solo film also speculates that Parker's enemies will join forces, thus, the introduction of the Sinister Six. Whoever these villains are, Spider-Man's definitely going to have a hard time.
"Spider-Man" reboot will hit theaters July 28, 2017.
