Motorola has officially launched the Moto X Style flagship handset during an international press event held in New York City, London and Sao Paolo on July 28.
The new device is expected to go on sale in September with a retail price starting at $399, Android Geeks reported.
The Moto X Style is the successor or the 3rd generation model of the Moto X 2013 and Moto X 2014. Also named as the Moto X Pure Edition for the U.S. market, Motorola's latest flagship smartphone sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with a screen resolution of 2560x1440 pixels.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 808 chipset made by Qualcomm and packs 3GB of RAM, which, according to Mashable, enhance the overall performance of the Moto X Style.
For its camera configurations, Motorola equipped the device with a 21-megapixel main snapper with 4K video recording capabilities. The rear camera can also be used to capture slow motion videos at 120 frames per second.
The other side of the handset houses a 5-megapixel camera. It seems the company designed the Moto X Style for selfie lovers since the device features front-facing flash.
The Moto X Style runs on a 3000mAh battery equipped with Turbo Charging mode. With this feature, the handset's battery life can last up to 10 hours with just 15 minutes of charging time.
For its operating system, Motorola equipped the Moto X Style with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It comes in 16, 32 and 64GB internal storage variants. These can be expanded up to 128GB through a microSD card.
Consumers can expect to get their hands on the Moto X Style or Moto X Pure edition later this year. However, it will not be sold through physical retail stores. Instead, it will only be available through the online stores of Motorola, Best Buy and Amazon, USA Today has learned.
The Moto X Style's network is supported by the carriers Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile and Sprint.
