"Boyfriend" singer-songwriter Justin Bieber shared on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" the title and meaning of his latest single, "What Do You Mean," on Wednesday, July 29. Could it be a possible reference to his ex, Selena Gomez?
When asked by Seacrest to explain the song's meaning, Bieber said, "girls are often just flip-floppy. They something and then they mean something else. I mean, I don't really know. That's why I'm asking. 'What do you mean?'"
According to Us Weekly, Bieber explained his thoughts about the opposite sex, he then admitted that he's been struggling with his own insecurities. However, he did not say anything if that song was about his ex, Selena Gomez, who have been on-and-off for a couple of years now.
Bieber said, "I get in my head a lot, and I get kinda depressed because I want it to work so badly."
He told Seacrest, "I want people to love it. I want to inspire people. Sometimes I feel, "Is it good enough? Is this the direction I want to go?"
Although the bielebers won't get to hear the songs for another 30 days, the Canadian heartthrob gave eCanadaNow a description of the uptempo track, "It's fun, it's summery, definitely the first single is amazing. I worked really hard on it with a guy named Po Bear."
