In Italy, 1000 Musicians gathered together for their favorite band Foo Fighters to visit their hometown and collaborated to cover one of the band's biggest songs.
According to Stuff, these musicians decided to practice like mad for a year before going to the little town of Cesena in central Italy to record a performance of the Foo Fighters' classic song "Learn To Fly."
In the video posted on YouTube this week, 1000 musicians were jamming on a field with a powerful cover of the Foo's 1999 hit, "Learn To Fly."
The project "The Rockin' 1000" was founded by Foo fan Fabio Zaffagnini in his intention to convince his favorite band to play in the northern Italian city of Cesano, and based on the video, it provides a pretty convincing argument, The New Zealand Herald reported.
Time has learned that the website Rockin'1000 claims that Foo Fighters has not been to Romagna since 1997. These diehard fans had to raise 44,000 Euros or nearly $50,000 in a crowd-funding campaign to pull off the stunt.
After the said performance, Zaffagnini addresses the camera, pleading for Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl to come and pay them a visit.
Zaffagnini said, "Italy is a country where dreams cannot easily come true, but it's a land of passion and creativity."
He added, "One thousand rockers that come from all over [Italy paid] their own expenses and just did it for one song: your song," as per The New Zealand Herald.
In related news, according to IMDb, Foo Fighters performed at John Kerry's campaign events in advance of the 2004 U.S. presidential elections. The Members are Dave Grohl (lead vocals and guitar), Nate Mendel (bass guitar), Chris Shiflett (lead guitar, background vocals), Pat Smear (rhythm guitar) and Taylor Hawkins (drums, percussion, vocals).
