Singer Justin Bieber was pulled over on Friday, in his chrome Fisker Karma sports car at about 10:45 a.m., by CHP officers. He was allegedly weaving in and out of traffic and according to TMZ a total of 10 drivers called 911.
According to Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine, paparazzi were pursuing the 18-year-old on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley.
"Bieber was driving like a maniac. He was weaving in and out of traffic. There was hardly any space between cars as he weaved from lane to lane," Zine told TMZ.
According to the City Councilman, Bieber's Fisker Karma sped down the freeway at speeds that exceeded 100 mph.
Zine also said, "If I was on patrol, I would have arrested him for reckless driving. I was going 60 and he drove by me like he was in a rocket ship. He was a maniac."
Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, tells TMZ, Zine "is just a councilman looking for a headline."
However, apparently Zine did not know it was Justin Bieber until later.
"He was going from the fast lane to the slow lane to the shoulder in traffic. It was a very dangerous driving situation. I figured someone was going to crash, so I called 911," Zine said in an LA Times article.
He said that Bieber admitted to driving 80 mph.
According to TMZ, law enforcement sources told them that the CHP is investigating the paparazzi for creating a hazardous situation.
