Busta Rhymes is making headlines after he was arrested and charged with assault in New York on Wednesday. According to the reports, the 43-year-old rapper allegedly got into a fight with a Manhattan gym employee, Gulf News noted.
At around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Busta Rhymes, whose net worth is $20 million, was arrested after the incident at Steel Gym, New York City. As per the New York Police Department, Rhymes got into a fight with a gym employee that intensified when he threw a carton of protein drink to the man, hitting him in the head, People revealed.
Following the incident, Busta Rhymes took to Instagram and addressed the incident early Thursday morning.
"Thanks to everyone who helped expedite this evening for me," he wrote. "I'm good and we're back to the grind. Heading 2 the studio 2 turn the bulls--- into GREATNESS. I'm super good."
Busta Rhymes' lawyer, Scott Leemon told New York Daily News that his client will be due back in court on Nov. 6 and will face the second-degree assault charge.
"This is clearly an attempt by someone to take advantage of Busta," Leemon said. "He did nothing wrong. This is a bunch of bull."
Meanwhile, Busta Rhymes is a rapper, producer, songwriter and actor who has amassed a $20 million net worth. In the U.S. alone, he has sold over 10 million albums. According to The Richest, Rhymes has released nine studio albums and seven of them have achieved either Gold or Platinum status.
