"Finding Dory," the sequel to the 2003 blockbuster animated film "Finding Nemo" is really happening. And according to the latest update about the upcoming movie, the official trailer's release date has been revealed.
The likeable and forgetful tang is all set to swim to the deep, blue sea with all of her entertaining antics. And who else would be on board to voice the titular role than the original voice actor from the first installment, Ellen DeGeneres?
The talk show host and comedian may have kept details about the production under wraps the entire time since it has already been announced that the official trailer for the animated flick is to be shown in the D23 Expo, Venture Capital Post has learned.
The D23 Expo is considered the largest Disney fan event in the world and it is set to happen in Anaheim, California, with many fans expected to attend and take part in the fanfare.
Aside from Pixar and Disney Animation Studios' "Finding Dory," Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar John Lasseter is also going to introduce other films, including "Moana," "The Good Dinosaur" and "Zootopia."
Fans who will attend the D23 Expo will surely be thrilled to know that new footage and official trailers of the upcoming flicks will be shown and there will also be other surprises in store for them, Crossmap has learned.
DeGeneres couldn't contain her excitement when she announced that a "Finding Nemo 2" is going to happen. In a statement with filmmaker Andrew Stanton, the lead actor of the sequel noted, "I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long time. I'm not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating 'Toy Story 16.' But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It's got a lot of heart, it's really funny, and the best part is — it's got a lot more Dory."
Of course, many voice actors who took part in "Finding Nemo" will also be returning for the sequel. Albert Brooks is coming back as Marlin, William Dafoe is returning as Gill, and Vicki Lewis is once again voicing Deb.
There will be a couple of additions to the new movie and they are Diane Keaton, who is voicing Dory's mother Jenny, and Eugene Levy, who is on board to play Charlie or Dory's father, according to MNR Daily.
"Finding Dory" is hitting theaters, both undersea and above, on June 17, 2016.
