Director James Gunn shed some light and gave some updates on "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2" while sharing some thoughts regarding how you can travel the road to happiness.
A "Guardians of the Galaxy" fan posted some queries on James Gunn's Facebook account regarding Rocket's storyline and if there will be new characters coming to the sequel. The director's answer, (spoiler alert!) was a short "yes and yes" to both questions.
Rejoice Rocket fans and Bradley Cooper's as well (he's the one giving voice to the feisty racoon, in case you didn't know), Rocket's origin will be unveiled in "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2." Prior to that, viewers already know that he was a product of a science experiment gone awry and, because of that, Rocket carries excess baggage of angst and misgiving, as per The Bitbag.
Moviepilot reported that in the comic book, Rocket was spawned together with several animals by deserted robots as an act of retribution for not sponsoring their research. But, that may not be carried out into the movie since Marvel has a history of straying away from the comics, most especially that James Gunn, who has a predilection to deviate from the original material, still helms "Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Volume 2."
Gunn previously stated, "The story for Guardians 2 is an original story that I came up with that I started working on actually while I was shooting Guardians 1, and it'll answer some of the questions that were put forth in the first movie about Peter Quill's father and who he is and what's going on with that."
"I think it's a more emotional movie. It's both a bigger movie and a smaller movie because we focus more intensely on some of the characters."
The director had hinted from a previous interview, "We'll get to know some of the characters who will be very important to [the] Guardians movies and probably important to the Marvel Universe as a whole."
Agent Venom aka Flash Thompson, Mantis, Bug (an actual bug/insect) and Moondragon (long lost daughter of Drax) may be the new characters who will join Star Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket and Groot, as per Moviepilot.
Moreover, he revealed another additional "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2" update which was about the inclusion of Kraglin in the script he wrote, as per Comicbook.com.
James Gunn also shared his thoughts about "5 Stupid Things That Make Me Happier" which can be read on his Facebook account, as per Fast Company.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 will hit the big screen on May 5, 2017.
