Barbara Bush Granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager Names Newborn Daughter After Grandpa George H.W. Bush; Bush Sisters Share Twin Power Secrets

Barbara Bush's granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager, the younger one of the fraternal twin daughters of former U.S. President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush, gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday. Jenna, along with husband Henry Hager, named their new bundle of joy after Jenna's grandpa, former President George H. W. Bush.

The Bush-Hager families are indeed getting bigger. On Aug. 13 at 9:12 a.m., Barbara Bush's granddaughter Jenna and husband Henry Hager's second child, Poppy Louise Hager, was born in New York City. According to Today, she weighed 7 pounds and 9 ounces and measured 20.5 inches. Poppy was named after her mom's grandpa George H.W. Bush, whose nickname growing up was "Poppy." While her middle name, Louise, was in honor of the couple's grandmothers' middle names, Louise and Lewis.

"We are thrilled to announce the birth of our darling daughter," the proud parents said in a statement, as per E! News. "Poppy is named after Jenna's grandfather, George Herbert Walker "Poppy" Bush, a.k.a. Gampy. His nickname growing up was Poppy, and we are proud to name her after a man we so adore. Louise is in honor of our grandmothers' middle names, Louise and Lewis. Mom and Poppy are healthy and well."

"Jenna was fantastic throughout, and Mila can't stop talking about her 'baby sissy,'" Henry Hager added.

Poppy joins her 2-year-old big sister Mila, who helped announced the news about the baby in a home video Jenna shared back in April, USA Today noted. Mila was born Margaret Laura after both her grandmothers on Apr. 13, 2013.

Meanwhile, Barbara Bush' granddaughter, Jenna Bush Hager, recently confessed that having two kids under two in the same house is more than a little intimidating. But with her experiences as an elementary school teacher, it seems that the 33-year-old mom-of-two has nothing to worry about.

Since marrying Henry Hager in 2008 at her parents' Prairie Chapel Ranch in Texas, they have been by each other's sides. Since then, Jenna has shared her hopes at having a big family.

"I appreciate life so much more as a mom. And I feel so lucky. I know how wonderful motherhood is and that makes it so much sweeter," she shared. "I want a big family. We'll see what happens."

In other news, Barbara Bush and her daughter Laura surprised Jenna Bush Hager with a phone call during her last segment on Today before taking a maternity leave.

"We're calling in just to give her lots of love, and tell her we can't wait to see that new baby," her mom Laura said on the phone.

Jenna's twin, Barbara, on the other hand, shared their secret and deep bond as sisters.

"She's seen the best of me and the worst of me and she's been there for every single moment," Jenna said of her older-by-one-minute sister. While Barbara added, "You always have a great partner in crime in everything you're doing."

With Jenna's special bond with Barbara, the proud mom of two revealed that she will rely on her deep relationship with her twin to help her own children navigate their bond with each other.

"I think that's something I look forward to teaching my daughters, just the power of having a sister and how you know your sister can be your best friend and your biggest advocate and I think we feel pretty lucky that we have somebody to rely on," Jenna said.
