Michael Schumacher is currently recovering at home in Switzerland following a serious head injury from a skiing accident in December 2013. While his injury left him in a medically-induced coma for six months, Schumacher's progenies are carrying on the family name and making their dad proud.
Being a champion is indeed in the bloodline of Michael Schumacher's children. As a matter of fact, his 18-year-old daughter Gina is making waves in the showjumping world. His 16-year-old son Mick, on the other hand, is following his dad's footsteps in motor racing. With mom Corinna supporting them, it would not be impossible for these Schumacher offspring to be champions in the future.
During the FEI European Championships in Aachen, Germany on Friday, Gina Schumacher dazzled the crowd as she directed her seven-year-old stallion Sharp Dressed Shiner. According to Daily Mail, the competition challenges riders to navigate their horses a set pattern of spins, stops and circles.
Earlier this year, Michael Schumacher's daughter championed the FEI European Reining Championships for Juniors and Young Riders competition held at the CS Ranch owned by her mother. The contest attracted 46 riders from nine countries.
Even though Schumacher's task was not made easier by riding an unfamiliar horse, which she had ridden for the first time the night before, the double European junior champ impressed the audience by showcasing her reining talent, a western-style riding contest, The Straits Times noted.
"She was very honored and had a lot of fun," Michael Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm said.
While German coach Nico Hoermann said that Gina is on his radar for the future and praised her for being one of their greatest talents, Kelm said it is unclear whether she is targeting a professional equestrienne career, FMT News has learned.
Meanwhile, it seems to be a busy weekend for the Schumacher family as Gina, mom Corinna and uncle Ralf Schumacher were headed straight to Nuerburgring to watch younger brother Mick compete in a Formula Four race, Zee News reported.
Mick Schumacher, who is racing in his first season having graduated from the go-karting circuit, is ranked 15th of 26 racers with four races left this season. On Saturday, he finished ninth, then sixth on his debut at Germany's famous Nuerburgring circuit in the Formula Four series, Yahoo! Sports has learned.
