Papa John's need your help after its iconic gold Camaro Z28 went missing Sunday morning. Sources believe that it has been stolen, so it's not surprising that the owner of the largest take-out and pizza delivery chain is very upset.
In the most unexpected turn of events, Papa John's signature vehicle — a classic Chevrolet Camaro Z28 — disappeared from its post at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Oakland County, Fox News reported.
The luxurious ride was nowhere to be found on Sunday, alongside two other still unnamed vehicles.
Papa John's 1972 Camaro was reportedly transported to Motor City as part of the Dream Cruise, but it appears that it's appearance at the event led to a nightmare for its owner.
The Chevrolet car is well-known for featuring in a number of Papa John's pizza, and it was typically displayed at the chain's headquarters in Kentucky.
According to Click On Detroit, Papa John's Camaro was stored inside a trailer the day it went missing. Sources say that trailer was parked on Woodbridge Street and the trailer went missing between midnight and 7:30 a.m.
Bob Kraut, the spokesman of Papa John's told reporters that the chain's founder John Schnatter is "distraught" after the $250,000 vehicle was lost.
What actually made the car even more special is the fact that Schnatter sold it 1983 to not only spare his dad's tavern in Indiana, but also to fund his pizza place at the time. Of course, his decision proved to be a remarkable one since Papa John's is now very successful.
Several years later, Schnatter was finally reunited with the gold Camaro Z-23 after the former found the latter in Louisville.
The success of Papa John's is all thanks to the vehicle, so now the Papa John's founder is asking for help in tracing his beloved possession.
As of late, police are investigating the incident, and they are looking for more clues on where the Camaro could be. As per Jalopnik, authorities are asking people who may have seen this very unique ride to contact them at 1-800-242-HEAT.
