With the third season of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." scheduled to premiere next month, fans can to expect see new changes in the television series' storyline.
Probably the character that will receive the most attention in the show's upcoming season is Daisy Johnson, who is portrayed by Chloe Bennet. During the second season, it was already confirmed that Johnson, also known as Skye, is actually Quake.
In the Marvel comic book universe, Quake is an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who develops the power to control vibrations with the potential of generating earthquakes.
In the episodes leading to the end of season two, the series began to show the development of Skye's powers. Based on the show's narrative, season three will probably reveal the character's full transformation as an Inhuman, a group of superhumans from the Marvel comics.
Aside from gaining superpowers, Johnson will most likely be portrayed differently in the show. As noted by Venture Capital Post, the character will probably have a new costume and appearance in the third season. She will also have a more mature demeanor in the third season because of her new powers and abilities.
In addition, Marvel has already confirmed that the Secret Warriors will play a central role in the new season of "S.H.I.E.L.D." This is a fictional group from the Marvel universe that is composed of agents with superpowers.
Since Johnson is one of the key members of this group in the comics, then the third season of the show will most likely portray Quake or Skye leading the Secret Warriors, Comicbook.com reported.
This plot point could then lead to a special guest appearance by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury in the television series, according to The Bit Bag. After all, Fury is the leader of the Secret Warriors in the comic books.
It is not yet clear if or when Jackson will appear in the third season but the program has been known to feature stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe such as Hayley Atwell, Cobie Smulders and Maximiliano Hernandez.
Season three of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is set to premiere on Sept. 29.
