'Batman: Arkham Knight' One Of GameStop’s Sales Driver; Rocksteady To Release A New DLC In September — Will It Be Better?

"Batman: Arkham Knight," which is reportedly the last installment of the "Batman Arkham" series, was launched in June. Market research firm NPD Group said that it was the top video game sold during the month it was launched, Reuters reported.

Apparently, "Batman: Arkham Knight" was one of sales drivers of GameStop, which reportedly helped the company's second-quarter profit. The company said its revenue rose higher than expected because of strong sales from its mobile, electronic business and the new game releases.

Chief Operating Officer Tony Bartel said that the company was anticipating a strong Q4 because two of the most-awaited games will be released — "Star Wars: Battlefront" and "Fallout 4." They did not expect much on the new launches in the current quarter.

The company's net income reportedly rose to $25.3 million from $24.6 million in the quarter ending on Aug. 1. Its revenue rose by two percent to $1.76 billion.

Meanwhile, many were not really impressed of the "Batman: Arkham Knight" DLCs that were launched two months ago. Batgirl DLC was launched by Warner Bros Interactive in July, while 1989-themed Batmobile movie pack and Skin Packs were released in August.

Rocksteady said it has six months-worth of DLC contents in the works, according to Design & Trend. This only means that there are still a lot of DLCs fans can expect to make up for the previous ones, which most of the gamers don't find exciting.

It has been recently revealed that a new DLC is slated to be released this September — a new story DLC and Batmobile pack. It will feature Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #1, which is expected to be released in Sept. 1, GCPD Lockdown, 2008 Tumbler Batmobile Pack and Original Arkham Batman Skin, all three expected in the later part of the month, after pack #1's release, according to GearNuke's report.

Whether the September DLC is better than its predecessors has yet to be known. What's known though is, every developer is working hard to improve their games with each update.

"Batman: Arkham Knight" is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One, while the PC version is currently being fixed.
