"Gotham" will be more chaotic when it returns to Fox this fall. It has been reported that season 2 will be the rise of the villains, and many fans are wondering what — probably who — could have caused it?
Recent reports revealed the debut of the character Theo Galavan, who will be played by James Frain, and this new teaser trailer seems to unveil what he has in store for "Gotham."
In theory, Galavan has revealed his plan with the city when he said in the trailer that monsters are coming to cleanse the city in blood and fire.
Galavan is a billionaire industrialist who will flaunt himself as a hero. In the report of the Inquisitr, vendetta is Galavan's motivation for causing chaos in Batman's City.
Executive producer Danny Cannon revealed that "Gotham" season 2 would be about how the villains will be unleashed and empowered by one man. Galavan will make the baddies realize that they are more powerful than the people opposing them, according to TVGuide.
Cannon described that Frain's character would be the "origins of a very famous DC Villain," who will be attaining his goals by relying on other villains.
"They are the pioneers for Gotham. They are the ones who will change things because with chaos and destruction is the only way you can build," Cannon said.
"You can't rebuild a city without first destroying it," he added.
Does this dystopian ideals sound anything familiar? Yes, it does.
Many have theorized that "Gotham" season 2 will give birth to a timeless DC villain, Ra's Al Ghul. If proven to be true, according to ComicBook.com, it will be the third live-action adaptation of the character.
Liam Neeson played the character in Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" and "Dark Knight Rises." Currently, the role is being played by Matthew Nable in CW's "Arrow."
This season is definitely going to be a pain in Jim Gordon's, played by Ben McKenzie, butt.
"Gotham" season 2 premieres on Sept. 21, promising more action and revelation Bruce Wayne's family history.
