Android M 6.0 is now revealed! It is called Marshmallow, and like other updates, they have become a yearly necessity for most smartphone users who want to enjoy what Google's team has added to its operating system iterations. This 2015, the update to anticipate is the Android 6.0 Marshallow, which is already set to conquer the Android realm before this month ends. The big question now is which smartphones are getting this update first.
The Android M 6.0 update for Google's mobile operating system, was unveiled at the 2015 I/O Conference. Though this new update is not an overhaul, it still offers a considerable number of features that consumers will surely delight over. Android Pit has learned that the new Android update has a Visual Voicemail, a rotating home screen, a lighter theme, a modified App Drawer and a modified Settings menu that highlights how users can manage their smartphone's RAM.
For power and charging, the Android M 6.0 update has this Doze feature that improves the standby time of devices. What this does is eliminate background processes when the smartphone is not in use for a certain time. The feature is said to provide handsets with about twice standby time than what Lollipop offered.
There are many app-specific improvement and tweaks. Then, there's Google Pay, which is a much anticipated feature for Android smartphones. Neurogadget noted, "This service lets users pay for services or goods they get from a shop without including their actual debit or credit card number. Rather, this service assigns each card a virtual number that is then presented in the account information when making a transaction."
The Android M 6.0 update is expected to be introduced to new smartphones, LG's Nexus 5X and Huawei's Nexus 6, that are expected to start rolling out by Sept. 29. Other devices that are also getting a taste of this update before the other smartphones in the market today include the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player.
For consumers and Android fans who can't wait till the new devices start rolling and for those who are eager to test out the Marshmallow update, International Business Times has shared where everyone can get the Android 6.0 M Developer Preview 3 ahead of its official release.
