Floyd Mayweather Jr. Tells Andre Berto To Be Appreciative, Compares Two-Time Champ's Pay To His $4.8M Car

Floyd Mayweather Jr., days before his presumed retirement fight with Andre Berto, sent a provoking message to the two-time champ.

It is a bit surprising that the pre-fight build for the upcoming event is rather quiet compared to the other pre-Mayweather Jr. fights, considering how he and Ronda Rousey exchanged jeers over the media.

Just when many almost thought that the WBC/WBA welterweight undefeated champ will keep quiet this time, he decided to send a pre-fight verbal punches to Berto during Showtime's "All Access."

"What are you getting at, $4 million? I got a car out there for $4.8 million," he said during the show, the Boxing Scene learned.

"We'll round it off to $5 million," he continued. "Be appreciative kiddo."

Many can remember Mayweather Jr. arriving at his boxing practice, flaunting the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita he recently purchased. He even shared a snap of the so-called hyper-car on his Instagram account.

Mayweather Jr. was quoted asking if Berto was from Haiti, and said he would send him back to his country.

Berto, on the other hand, has been hoping that amid Mayweather's overconfidence, a turn of events will happen.

"Maybe he thinks it's easy, that he doesn't have to be pushed, but I've learned in a lot of situations, life can come at you in ways you don't expect and change your plans," Berto said, as per the report of Los Angeles Times.

Berto described the pound-for-pound king as sharp and elusive. He added though that he was not stronger than him.

"I can tell you I'm looking forward to making history," Berto said.

Mayweather Jr. currently has a record of 48-0, with 26 knock outs, while Berto is at 30-3, with 23 knock outs, according to the Bleacher Report.
