Get to know "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" new series regular Luke Mitchell ahead of the ABC show's fall premiere next week. Here are five things you need to know about him.
1. He is from Down Under
He may be one of the promising faces on America's small screen now, but the Mitchell is actually from Down Under. Born in Queensland, Australia, the charming 6-ft-1 actor began his acting career in Melbourne.
According to Home and Away Goss, the Aussie actor honed his acting skill at the Film & Television Studio International. He also worked with Sudden Impact Entertainment in the entertainment company's live interactive theater.
2. He never planned on pursuing an acting career
As surprising as this may sound, the "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" hunk did not intend to become an actor at first. He originally wanted to become a professional tennis player, as per his IMDb profile.
The 30-year-old started to play tennis when he was just five and he hoped to play the sport professionally at 19. Surprisingly, it was also tennis that made him realize he wanted something else. While he was training for the sport seven days a week at 19, an epiphany that tennis was the only thing he had struck him. After he gave up the sport, he was able to finally figure out what he wanted in life.
3. He is married
Sorry ladies. The Lincoln Campbell actor in "Agents of SHIELD" is so off the market, he's got a wedding band to prove it. He married his longtime girlfriend Rebecca Breeds in 2013. The 28-year-old Aussie actress and her "Home and Away" costar-hubby frequently share snaps of their time together on their Instagram accounts.
Mitchell's wife may look familiar to "Pretty Little Liars" fans since she appeared on the ABC Family show as one of Emily's friends named Nicole, Daily Mail has learned.
4. His first major US television role was in The CW remake "The Tomorrow People"
Before he landed into "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD," Mitchell played one of the lead roles in the 2013-2014 series of The CW. He played John Young in the sci-fi action series. When the show got cancelled in 2014, Mitchell took to social media to express his sadness over the news. He wrote, "I'm sad for all #TheTomorrowPeople fans but so grateful for all your support. You're AMAZING! #RIPTheTomorrowPeople," as quoted by another Daily Mail report.
5. H is now a regular cast member of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD"
Marvel announced in June that Mitchell is going to stay with the show as Lincoln Campbell for good. "MAOS" fans will not have to worry anymore about the Inhuman tribe member's appearance in the series. Executive Producer Jeph Loeb already confirmed that he is back for more this season. "Luke proved a valuable addition to our cast in Season 2, and after seeing him light up the screen with his charisma we knew we had to have him back for more. Our writers have come up with big plans for the character of Lincoln in our next season, and we can't wait for fans to see everything we have in store," Loeb told Marvel.com.
