Selena Gomez, 23, basically spent her entire life in front of the camera. The public witnessed how she blossomed from being a little child star in the Barney show to one of the most popular actresses and singers in Hollywood.
In an interview with Click2Houston about her new film "Hotel Transylvania 2," Gomez was asked if she experienced being made fun of because she was different while growing up.
"I was on Barney. Of course, I was made fun of, are you kidding me?" she replied, which made the interviewer laugh. She went on saying that she's still being made fun of.
Gomez's character in "Hotel Transylvania 2," Mavis, is now all grown up, has a kid and has responsibilities. Just like her character, the "Same Old Love" singer said she's proud of what she's become, but she said she hasn't got everything all figured out.
"I definitely feel like I have come into my own a little bit, and I am very proud of that. But by all means, I do not have everything all figured out," she said when was asked if she made the same transition — into being a woman — or if she still feels like a kid, in an exclusive interview with Fox2Now St. Louis.
"I'm sure I'm gonna fall a couple more times, and get back up again," she continued. "I'm fully okay with that."
Gomez, and her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, were the topic of the tabloids and press these past months. The couple went on and off for a few years, and Bieber faced his own hardships, as per CNN.
Despite everything, the two singers remained good friends. Gomez is also not denying the fact that she is not perfect, and making mistakes is part of her being human.
The "Heart Wants What It Wants" singer made a lot of changes in the past year — she changed labels, split from her long-time manager and changed clothing lines, according to Elle. She said she now feels how incredible it is to call her own shots.
Her BFF, Taylor Swift, runs her own empire, and when Gomez was asked what have she learned from her, she said the Taylor Swift quote, "If you're the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room."
