Blake Shelton's rehab case seems to further boost his $60 million net worth. As reported by TMZ, the 39-year-old "The Voice" judge is currently waging a court battle against In Touch Weekly for running a story that he had entered a rehab right after his separation from Miranda Lambert.
In Blake Shelton's rehab case, which may further increase his net worth, Miranda Lambert's ex-husband denied the allegations published on the Sept. 28 issue of In Touch Weekly magazine with the headline, "Rehab for Blake... He Finally Hits Rock Bottom." The lawsuit was filed by Shelton's lawyer Larry Stein in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Due to the falsified and sensationalized report, Blake Shelton is taking legal actions against In Touch's parent company, Bauer Media. According to Entertainment Tonight, the lawsuit filed was for defamation and false light invasion of privacy. Shelton is also seeking $2 million in damages.
Furthermore, Blake Shelton's rehab case highlighted the issues regarding the allegations of infidelities during his marriage with singer Miranda Lambert. Shelton also specifically cited the claims that members of his "close circle" had been attempting an intervention. The lawsuit also disproves the magazine's Aug. 10 issue, claiming that an alleged fling ended Shelton's marriage.
"Mr. Shelton, who is not a litigious person, was prepared to let the first cover go," the suit read. "In Touch had assured Mr. Shelton that it was going to leave him alone. Apparently, that was not the case."
"Accordingly, Mr. Shelton hereby commences this action both to set the record straight... and to recover damages for the harm Bauer has done to his reputation," Blake Shelton's rehab case continued, as per International Business Times.
In early October, Blake Shelton, who has an estimated net worth of $60 million as Celebrity Net Worth listed, has joked about the tabloid rumors, tweeting that he's not in rehab.
