"White Day" will be coming and spreading the terror soon. This horrifying game was announced during a media event of Sony Computer Entertainment in South Korea, iDigital Times learned.
There haven't been a lot of words about "White Day." However, here are the things that we know so far.
1. It is said to be a remake of a famous 2001 horror game title.
Many game critics believe that "White Day" seemes to be a remake of "White Day: A Labyrinth Named School." According to Game Rant, the 2001 title shoves players into a haunted school, with the main character looking for ways to survive the dangers from within.
"White Day: A Labyrinth Named School" was described as a first-person, survival horror game, which featured elements and plot based from the ancient Chinese studies of Taoisim. Other than the protagonist, who happens to be a young man, there are three girls who are also trapped inside the school.
Throughout the game, the main character, and whoever girl he chooses to escape with, will be chased by possessed janitors and other ghosts. Their primary intention is to kill the player.
2. "White Day" will be playable soon because of this developer.
"White Day" is being remastered and it has been reported that the Korean Rio Games will be handling the porting.
The original game was developed by Sonnori, a Korean studio. It was launched in Korea more than a decade ago, but there was it wasn't released in the Western hemisphere of the globe.
The game reportedly became an abandonware, and it was only in the wake of Sonnori's closure did the game reportedly became fully known. A fan-written translation of the game made it playable in English.
It has also been reported that downloading the game is technically illegal, so many horror fans never really got the chance to play the game.
3. "White Day" release date
There is no confirmation yet on the exact release date, but Niche Gamer reported a 2016 release date for PlayStation VR. Although, many critics believe that the game's release outside of Korea is likely to happen because of the growing interest of people from North America and Europe on playing horror games.
Other than its international PS4 release, the game will also become available on other platforms. The horrifying game will become available in mobile and PC platforms this month in Korea, as per the report of Game Planet.
