Nintendo NX, the successor to the Nintendo Wii U, so far has yet to produce a ground breaking game.
EA Games earned the ire of gamers everywhere due to its "questionable" DLC practices over the years.
It seems that these two titans in the video game industry are not winning any new fans right now, so what they did will surprise you.
As reported by Gamespot, Electronic Arts said that they will evaluate "any and all opportunities" to support the incoming Nintendo NX. EA Games CEO Andrew Wilson said in an interview when asked if the "Battlefield" and "FIFA" publisher plans to support the console, which is reported to launch as early as 2016.
Wilson said that he is going to address the topic slightly different and added that EA Games is looking to the future, where it sees a world where a lot of people are playing on more platforms in more places than ever before.
Andrew added that nowadays, people see the platform cycle not just as a traditional six-year console cycle, but as kind of a six-month refresh rate on mobile devices, smart TVs and even Internet-capable fridges.
According to Uber Gizmo, not much is known about the upcoming Nintendo NX, but there has been a lot of speculations about the console, like there are reports saying that it will be a disc-less console or it will rely on the emerging virtual reality technology.
But despite without any solid updates from Nintendo, developing the console's game ecosystem is still important, which is why this "partnership" with EA Games is crucial.
As much as pundits and gamers would like to trash on the video game publisher, you cannot deny that EA Games have a lot great and interesting titles that goes way back.
In addition, although Nintendo may be lagging behind its more powerful colleagues like the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, its heritage for fun and easy to play games is still a great selling point and EA sees that.
According to Ecumenical News, EA Games declined to directly comment about the Nintendo NX but said, "As it relates to Nintendo, we've had a tremendous relationship with them over the years, and we will evaluate any and all opportunities with them in the same way we do all platform opportunities."
The Nintendo NX may still be far from being released, but if reports are saying that it's a console that can surprise anyone, we can hardly wait.
