'Fallout 4' Encounters Problems On Launch Day — What's With The Delay?

"Fallout 4," Bethesda's much-awaited and highly-anticipated game, is slated to be released today, but something is going on. There have been reports that shipments are delayed, and many fans are not sure why it's happening.

"Fallout 4" fans who placed a pre-order still did not have the copy of the physical game. According to Kotaku, even one of their own personnel who pre-ordered the PS4 version experienced the same thing.

Some reportedly claimed that they did not receive any delay notification, while others said they received abrupt messages earlier Tuesday. The tech site reportedly received multiple complaints about the delay not just the "Fallout 4" Pip-Boy Edition on Amazon, but also the regular version.

The site also found out that it isn't just Amazon. Apparently, what fans are now calling as disastrous event is happening with GameStop and Target as well.

What on earth is going on?

Amazon, Target, and Bethesda were contacted for comments, but they haven't responded yet. It was only GameStop that reportedly replied, explaining that the shipping issue was unforeseen; hence, there was a delay of shipment for a day.

They were unable to provide the exact reason of the delay. However, they gave out an assurance that they are working heedfully to make sure that this would not happen again.

Meanwhile, GAME is also facing a number of complaints from dissatisfied customer. GameSpot learned that a few days before the release of "Fallout 4," the leading video games, console and accessories retailer in U.K. sent out a notification to a number of their customers that there was a payment error that happened with the pre-order.

GAME's Facebook page are flooded with comments from frustrated customers. There were a couple who claimed that they had checked with their banks, but were told that there were no attempts to collect any payments.

"GAME can confirm that these payment issues were not caused by our systems, and instead arose due to customers' banks or PayPal accounts not allowing payment to go through. This is mainly caused by expired bank account details," the company said in a statement, noted by Eurogamer.

What the customers are feeling — the frustration, displeasure and disappointment — are understandable. For months, many have looked forward to playing "Fallout 4" on the day it will be released, only to be told that the shipment was delayed.

GAME acknowledges and understands the customers' reactions. They have apologized and already assured their customers that their "Fallout 4" game has been reserved for them.

"Fallout 4" is released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
