Mariah Carey, who has amassed an estimated net worth of $520 million, has been struggling to recover her failing career for more than a year now. Nick Cannon's ex-wife has also been the target of nasty criticisms especially when she took a Las Vegas residency. Fortunately, she is salvaging the remnants of her once super successful career through directing and starring in her very own made-for-TV Christmas movie and of course, through moving in with billionaire boyfriend James Packer.
While Mariah Carey's net worth proved to be still lucrative, her career does not suggest the same after it took an embarrassing fall over a year ago, Celeb Dirty Laundry noted. Fortunately, the 45-year-old "Hero" hitmaker reportedly directed and starred in a new Christmas movie titled, "A Christmas Melody," which premieres on Dec. 19 on Hallmark Channel. But will the movie be enough to make her Hollywood star shines bright again?
"Mariah Carey portrays a music teacher who helps a stressed-out young girl named Emily write a song she will sing at a town's Christmas variety show," the official synopsis of Carey's movie read, as per Jezebel. "The girl has just moved with her mom to begin a new life just before the holidays. And the teacher does wonders to help with the adjustment process -- also intervening to help her mother find love and happiness as well. Expect that Carey herself might also sing a song or two."
Mariah Carey's haters, however, are trolling her new movie and making fun of it online.
"Mariah knows the haters will make fun of it, but she doesn't care," a source said, as per CDL. "This was her opportunity to star and direct a film and she couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. She loves Christmas and thinks this will become a holiday classic."
Despite her failing career, Mariah Carey appeared unfazed since she has still a whopping net worth of $520 million as listed by Celebrity Net Worth. And who will worry about a career if you have someone like James Packer on your life? But the Grammy-winning singer slammed the rumors that she us living with her billionaire lover. Instead, she offered a word that best describes her love life and its -- "Grandtastic."
"Oh, my God, I was staying at his house," Carey told AJ Calloway, as per Extra. "He wasn't there. He has houses at, like, a lot of different houses... okay? I'm sorry. I can't help it. The man owns some real estate. He wasn't there."
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey also recently flaunted her multimillion net worth when she displayed her lavish glam life as she shared a photo on Instagram showing her working from the comforts of her own bedroom, according to E! News.
"Working from bed," she shared on Instagram. "Sometimes you have to make the voice-over studio come to YOU. #reallife."
