The iPhone 7 is one of the most anticipated smartphones right now and for a very good reason.
More often than not, whatever Apple Inc. produces, fans and critics gobble it up because so far, every product it has made has been nothing short of excellent.
As reported by MacWorld, the iPhone 7 is about to undergo some major changes, one of them are the new Apple Earbuds that, instead of the traditional 3.5mm jack, will feature Apple's Lightning connector.
In a related report by The Week, a new form of its headphones can divide fans and critics alike.
The rumored change may annoy consumers who will find out that their headphones are about to become obsolete, but the change from a traditional headphone jack to Lightning port will offer countless opportunities for the device.
Moreover, there are also rumors regarding wireless charging capability and even a touchscreen display with a built-in Touch ID.
However, many are asking what would the upcoming smartphone look like? The article reported that the iPhone 7 will likely have a 4.7-inch screen, while a 5.5-inch model will come to the iPhone 7 Plus.
And if Apple decides to make another 4-inch iPhone, rumors said that it will likely be called the iPhone 7 Mini instead of iPhone 7C.
It was also noted that the upcoming phone is likely to get a substantial physical redesign after the very identical iPhone 6/6s generations. But, it's still too early to know what direction the company will head in regarding the design.
International Business Times reported that Apple has filed new patents sparking rumors anew.
The patent called "Electronic Devices With Housing Port Shutters," was filed by the company and will be a new way of blocking openings in a handset that can allow entry of harmful particles and liquids. This resulted into rumors that the iPhone 7 will have some form of waterproof feature.
The patent filed at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office read, "An electronic device may have a housing in which a display and other components are mounted. Audio components such as a speaker and microphone and other electrical components may be mounted in an interior portion of the housing,"
It added, "A shutter may be interposed between the audio component and the housing port. The shutter may have an electrically controlled positioner that is used to position a movable shutter member."
The iPhone 7 is rumored to measure between 6.0 to 6.5 mm in thickness and will be equipped with an A9 Chip and 2 or 3GB of RAM.
