Alleged Microsoft Lumia 850 renders have leaked, along with its alleged specifications.
After months of rumors, another leaked emerged and this time, we get to have a good glimpse of what the upcoming Microsoft phone is.
According to GSM Arena, the device sports a metal frame and has a measurement of 155.9 x 77.23 x 6.92 mm, making it one of the thinnest Lumia phones to date.
Moreover, Christian Today added that the rest of the Lumia 850's minimalist appearance matches its predecessors, complete with round edges and on the back, a classy black metallic Microsoft logo right under a protruding camera that features a LED flash above it.
But apart from the Lumia 850, Neowin noted that despite being cancelled, the 850, along with the 750, would make a debut sometime in the near future.
However, Editor in Chief of Windows Central Daniel Rubino is still doubtful about the alleged Microsoft smartphone and said in a tweet that, "There is no 'Lumia 850.'"
Looks can be deceiving apparently because despite its "premium" appearance, the Microsoft Lumia 850 is actually pegged to be a lower-tier handset.
As for its specs, it will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip with CPU speed clocked at 1.4GHz. It will also have only 1GB of RAM but have a fairly capable 10-megapixel Carl Zeiss rear camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper.
It will have a 16GB internal memory with ability to expand via microSD and a 2,650 mAh battery. As for its screen, it will be protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
However, along with the Lumia 550 and the Lumia 750, it will run on Windows 10 mobile for its operating system, but it will lack LTE support and will rely only in dual-band Wi-Fi.
For a modern smartphone, the Lumia 850 may be a bit underwhelming, but you can't deny that if based on its leaked render, it sure looks good.
After a rather failed "marriage" with former leading phone company Nokia, Microsoft decided to create its own line of smartphones and carry on the Lumia franchise.
However, it seems that as of now, Microsoft is focusing on Windows tablets and PCs as evident in its upcoming IFA event on Sept. 2016.
Still, there's a great change that the company may brush up on the topic regarding their line of smartphones and maybe show some of its capability.
But for now, these information are all "rumors" so it's better to take it with a grain of salt.
