If you're aching to buy the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7, you're in luck because the company is expected to release its flagship model in just a couple of months from now.
As reported by Digital Trends, Samsung will likely release their flagship models in the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016 in February.
According to rumors, we will see the release of the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 EDGE, Galaxy S7 Edge Plus and the Galaxy 7 Plus. Yes, its four Galaxy S7 phones that will be released, but you may be wondering where the Galaxy Note is.
Reports said that there are also rumors that points out that the Galaxy S7 Plus may be the new Note. Whether this suggests a simple name change or a reference to altered functionality is up to the user's guess.
Previously known model numbers of the device include the Sm-G930 and the SM-G935, which according to chronological order of the yearly announcement schedule, would be the S7 and the S7 Edge. However, if two other models are introduced at the same time, it would be breaking the pattern of two flagship phones per year.
Although this may seem like a rash move by Samsung, it's should be remembered that both Apple and Sony have policies for one flagship phone per year. Sony even said that it's targeting the second half of 2016 for future releases in an interview last September.
In a related report by Tech Radar, a leaked image of the rumored Galaxy S7 was released. But actually, the leaker did not name it as the S7, but did say that it's the "not yet released flagship phone" so people pieced together the clues and assumed that it's the rumored Galaxy S7.
In accordance to previous reports, the device will come in two sizes. One will sport a 5.2-inch screen and the other with a 5.8-inch screen, which may be a move to target hands of all sizes.
Forbes reported that that Galaxy S line is getting bigger and bigger with each release since last year, the S6 featured a screen size of 5.7-inches, but is now bumped to 5.8-inch.
In addition, leaked blueprints of the handset said that the S7 Plus will be 163.4 mm high, 82 mm long and about 7.82 thick.
And as such, the S7 Plus is expected to join the 6-inch phone ranks that will give fans of the huge Samsung Galaxy Mega a premium alternative.
