Xbox One users now have another reason to play because "Ark: Survival Evolved" is about to arrive in the console.
In a review of the game by Kotaku, "Ark: Survival Evolved" is a dinosaur-themed survival game, wherein the player will find himself in a tropical island where he will encounter dinosaurs and even other players.
Moreover, the focus of the game is human evolution, which will be in accordance to the rapid pace of dinosaurs. Players start off with no clothes and crude tools, but slowly begin to gather and hunt.
You will then start forming tribes, build towns and hunting becomes breeding and cultivating.
According to the review, the game runs smoothly on the Xbox One, but the menus are described as a bit daunting, in addition to the radial menu being a little over-sensitive. But all in all, the basic functions of the game work.
In a related report from Game Spot, it is said that if players have another unit of Xbox One lying around, they can use it to host their own game server.
According to Jesse Rapczak, co-founder of Studio Wildcard that created the game, players can host a "50 plus player" server on a second Xbox One unit, which is something that would normally require an expensive PC server that will require a lot of management.
However, Rapczak did not discuss how will this work, nor was it confirmed if hosting your owns server will be available from the get go.
It should be noted that "Ark: Survival Evolved" is still a work-in-progress as of now, so some of the mentioned features may come later.
VG24/7 noted that the Xbox version will have the same features of the PC one, but don't expect the former to be as updated as frequently as the latter. Although Wildcard promised that the updates will be no further than two weeks apart.
But according to the report, Xbox One users will have a distinct advantage since Rapczak said that the console's gamepad control is much better compared to the PC version. He also added that it will be the "smoothest gameplay experience" available for the game.
Furthermore, console owners will also be getting a special limited edition. "Founder's Content," which will include additional skins.
Lastly, the final release of the game will cost more than $35 when it arrives, but those who get it now won't have to pay for any extra in addition to extra skin packs with an unlockable bionic T-rex skin, ARK Founder's Hat skin and ARK Founder's Trophy.
The final version of the game will arrive in June 2016, but the Game Preview version will be available tomorrow, Dec. 16 2015.
