Apple iOS 9.2.1 Beta Publicly Released; Update Now Available For Developers — Find Out How To Get The Latest iOS Here

Even though the iOS 9.2 arrived for just a couple of weeks now, Apple already released the first public beta of the iOS 9.2.1.

According to Apple Insider, if you are a registered app developer or a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you can now download the beta over the air through the iOS Settings App or via iTunes.

Those not registered can sign up for free at Apple's official website.

Putting it simply, the software is similar in build to the 13D11, but users who update their device are warned that those update to iOS 9.2.1 cannot be restored to earlier versions of the iOS.

In a similar note by GSM Arena, it is unclear what exactly is included in the latest software update because there's no changelog to speak of. But given the fact that this is a "minor" update, users probably should not expect any major additions.

Moreover, Gotta Be Mobile notes that the update can be used on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

But before you download, there are things that you should now.

According to a Mac Rumor forum, there are already a myriad of bugs and issues to the iOS 9.2.1 beta, thanks to the beta testers.

As noted, 3D Touch animation in the 9.2.1 beta lags in landscape mode, coupled with iOS auto lock issue.

Also, animation in messages goes missing when tapping on "Edit" and then "Cancel," and saving any website to Notes app with Safari Notes share button results into duplicated note when searching for it.

Moreover, the volume indicator is not displayed when an iPad has been locked and unlocked with a Smart Cover or Case.

The App store has also some reported issues, wherein the apps rank number 150 are missing. If you're also using an iPhone 6S or S+, the bottom of the keyboard is cut off when you type in a search parameter in the App Store.

All in all, there bugs are irritating at worst and are really to be expected since this is just a beta version of the OS.

As of now, these reported issues by users are still unfixed, but expect most, if not all of them to be remedied once the official version of the iOS 9.2.1 rolls out.

So again, we advise before installing the beta OS, carefully think if this "minor" update is worth taking the risk, since after all, the official version is coming soon.
