After a successful run on Fox network during Sunday night, Grease: Live is now available in live stream services.
Some have seen the version of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John where two lovers in high school go through life in song and dance. The 1978 version was critically and financially acclaimed at the Box Office, which was directed by Randal Kleiser. This year's tribute to that version was manned by Thomas Kail in the director's chair and lead by stars such as Vanessa Hudgens, Julianne Hough and Aaron Tveit.
If you've missed the musical extravaganza on TV last Sunday, don't worry. You can get the chance to watch it and relive the singing drama on various streaming services such as Hulu. While Fox allows you to watch Grease: Live on demand anytime, anywhere. Fox has created a service for viewers on their website, Fox.com as well as making it available on their mobile app, FOX NOW.
The live musical is somewhat different compared to the original 1978 movie where songs are created specific for some artists like Carly Rae's character Frenchy.
The reception to the 2016 musical was mostly positive and reports have indicated that some lyrics have been changed to make it more family-friendly and relatable. And those who have seen the 1978 version or listened to the famous soundtracks have noticed it to the most major change.
Fox's production have decided to change the Grease: Live lyrics in line with the general audience standards. The original lyrics were described to be much more racier and the song "Greased Lightning" appeared to be the most changed song in the live TV musical. The network changed words such as "lacy lingerie" to "wedding bouquet" and some viewers were not as receptive to that. Check out the video clip of Grease: Live's version of "Greased Lightning" here.
