The first game of the Puppy Bowl 2016 season started with Team Ruff versus Team Fluff. Victory goes to Team Ruff and it was a star performance from Team Ruff's Star.
The Most Valuable Player title is given to the player with the top athletic abilities and that goes the same for the fluffy kind. It's time to add another star to that list, Star the puppy that is. She sure can pack a punch.
Details on Star shows that she's a 20-week-old Chow Chow and Labrador mix. She was named the MVP of Puppy Bowl XII after leading her Team Ruff to 70-44 lead which dominated over Team Fluff. For a puppy her size, she scored three touchdowns.
But her double-touchdown in the middle of the second quarter made the chicken cheerleaders flap their wings like crazy. Star's move goes to the record books as being the first double touchdown in Puppy Bowl history.
A few minutes before Star's double-touchdown, a controversy threatened the game for Team Ruff when game officials discovered a deflated ball being used. Fortunately, Ted Wells was able to save the day.
When Team Ruff decided to put Star in the second quarter, Team Fluff continued without any changes. Eventually they feared that Star's presence threatened their big game when one of Team Fluff's pup-players lost control of her bowels.
It was an exciting game when in the third quarter Leah tried to bring Team Fluff back to life by scoring two touchdowns but they couldn't handle Timber, who was handed the reigns by Star leading Team Ruff leading the game with a 63-30 entering the fourth quarter.
The game goes to Team Ruff - toughest pups there are.
