"Sherlock" season 4's final script is underway and creators teased fans about what's in store.
While they mostly kept quiet about the whole thing, they were generous enough to drop a few details during an interview with Boyd Hilton. The journalist was able to sit down with creators Steven Moffat, and Mark Gattis (who plays Mycroft in the series), along with Amanda Abbington (who plays Mary) and show producer Amanda Abbington.
The imaginative and creative geniuses behind the writing of the show kept it all tight and it went so far as not writing things down. At one point Gatiss thought he verbally spilled a detail while being on location with Benedict Cumberbatch during the shooting of "The Abominable Bride." He had to double back and think to himself, "He's not supposed to know that... I don't think he's really heard... No he hasn't," recalled Gatiss.
Even actress Amanda Abbington doesn't get an exclusive on the deets. Moffat confirmed that there are details they are not going to reveal even to the lead actors. And to make sure of that, even the head writers were tasked not to write certain lines that belonged to Mycroft - Gatiss' character - because he knows what's behind the "behind the scenes."
So the question still remains - is Moriarty really dead? Previous reports indicated that Moriarty may be coming back because of the dark clues and writings left behind in previous episodes. It's a good thing that Moffat and Gatiss are here to really tell fans the truth regarding Moriarty's death.
"I think what we can say is we may or may not see more of Andrew Scott as Moriarty," was Moffat's only reply.
That is a vague conclusion to the mystery behind Sherlock's arch-nemesis, but they did say it's going to be big.
