Fans of "Halo 5: Guardians" have been extremely spoiled with the endless updates of the highly popular game, but it looks like 343 industries have a lot more in store in the "Hammer Storm" update - which they will announce in their upcoming livestream on Feb. 24, 2016.
No release date has been set yet by the makers regarding when they'll be making the "Hammer Storm" update available, but for now, fans can relish the fact that the beloved grifball will be making a comeback in "Halo 5: Guardians." This fan-favorite gametype will be available in multiplayer mode. The grifball will help gamers up the ante on their shooting game.
Other gametypes that are included in the next "Halo 5: Guardians" update are two new ones named Fiesta and Assault. Hammer Storm will also include new reqs like the Gravity Hammer, and an expanded color palette that will make customization for armors and emblems fun for existing users.
As of late, "Halo 5: Guardians" has already generated $1.5M in microtransactions leading the existing championship prize pool to a neat sum of $2.5M. This is a huge number since the game has only been released fairly recently. The $2.5M, which is expected to become bigger, will be the prize money for the Halo World Cup Championships.
These funds were also contributed by crowdfunding efforts via the game's req system. Microsoft also mentioned that $2.5M is just part of their revenue, and this means that the game has generated much more than the said amount. However, the prize money won't go any higher as they have already set this as their limit - either way; this is the biggest pot money the competition has given in its history.
The Halo World Championships will be held on Mar. 18-20, 2016. The venue has yet to be announced on Mar. 4, 2016.
