The Miami Heat's eight-time All-Star, Dwyane Wade, has been suspended on Thursday for one game without any pay for allegedly "thrusting" his left leg towards the groin area of Charlotte Bobcats point guard, Ramon Sessions.
With the Heat holding on to a slim four-point lead in the 8th minute mark of the final quarter, Wade immediately brought the ball beyond midcourt and was met by the former Los Angeles Laker. The Bobcats' new guard appeared to be going for a steal when he was called in for a reaching foul. However, Sessions was the one who was obviously in pain after the play because apparently after the foul against Wade, the two-time NBA Finals Champion and MVP gave the impression of kicking him (Sessions) in the groin. The referees did not call a foul on Wade.
The two players exchanged some heated words after that, but it did not escalate further. After losing 16 straight games, Sessions told reporters in the post-game conference that he thought Wade deliberately kicked him. "I thought he did it on purpose, and it wasn't called," he said.
Wade will not be able to play against the Heat's match against the Detroit Pistons on Friday, but he will return on Saturday for their next match against the Milwaukee Bucks.
