Pattie Mallette, Justin Bieber's mother, took to her Twitter account to express her wish for her son to encounter God during his birthday, Christian Post reported on Thursday.
"22 years ago I was 18 years old, pregnant and scared. But God. Lord encounter @justinbieber for his bday! Give him all I couldn't in Jesus name," she wrote.
In an interview he did with Billboard, the "Love Yourself" hit maker revealed the reason why his communication with his mother just came to a halt. "I was distant because I was ashamed. I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me and I knew she was. We spent time not talking, so it takes time to rebuild that trust. She's living in Hawaii now, so it's hard, but getting better," the pop star admitted. Despite this bump in the road in his life, Bieber still expresses his love for his mother and says that she is an amazing woman.
At a young age, Mallette already introduced Bieber to his now pastor and friend - Judah Smith. Bieber's Christian faith was built up early. He also shared that back when he was only 7-years-old, his mother would not allow him to listen to anything else but Pastor Judah's tapes to help him fall asleep.
Back in 2013, Mallette told Access Hollywood how her son wanted her to respect his boundaries and relationship with her. She stated that everybody has their own set of opinions and wants to sensationalise everything. She came to the conclusion that you just have to let people make their own decisions.
"Me, personally, I would love to be with him all the time and to be able to ground him and deal with his problems and do all that stuff, but at some point the parenting style changes. I hope to still be a respected voice in his ear," the "Nowhere But Up" author said.
