Tim Burton has been known to have directed strange and peculiar films, which is why it's not strange to see the well-known director embrace the peculiar book by Ransom Riggs. His latest movie titled "Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children" will once again show his Burtonesque style of cinematic air. The book focuses on a magical orphanage that houses mysterious children and fantasy-filled rooms.
Actress Eva Green is once again partnering with Burton after their last collaboration on "Dark Shadows" (the murderous movie with Tom Hiddleston). This time, with the script penned by Jane Goldman, Eva Green is taking the role of Miss Peregrine. Burton describes the character as a strange "Mary Poppins" like character that excudes weirdness and mystery.
While Green holds the orphanage, the other side is being protected by Dame Judi Dench as Miss Avocet. In the book, both women are protectors. The book revolves around the lives of magical children who appear to live in an abandoned house but when you get inside, it's a fantastical world of magic and weirdness.
To make the movie even more dark than it already is, Burton has chosen to cast talented kids that will portray the peculiar children of the orphanage. These kids are blessed with powers in the book but in real life, kids can be hyper-active which worried Burton at first until he realized that "...they were all such professionals on set. You would never believe that it was some of these kids' first big film."
The strange crew of kids are made up of leads Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell. The movie adaptation is scheduled to hit theaters on Sep. 30, 2016 in the US while it's set to be released in the UK on Oct.7.
If you already have the hardcopy of "Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children" then be sure not to miss this movie for another Burton delight.
