The 34-year-old pop music icon Britney Spears has shared her sentiments about the young pop star Justin Bieber for the 100th issue of V Magazine, as reported by The Daily Mail. The singer opens up about the struggles that celebrities like herself face in the path that they have chosen to take. Showing sympathy with the pop stars of the new generation, Spears expressed that she felt for the 22-year-old Canadian "Where are U Now" singer.
"Whoever is in the spotlight, people are so quick to judge. I mean, there are a lot of kids coming up who've experienced that," Spears said. "You know, Justin Bieber, he's huge, and he experiences that. It's just the way the world works unfortunately. I've been doing this for 20 years. I kind of don't pay attention to it."
"I have my relationship with God and myself and that's what matters to me. I really don't care what most people think," she added. The "Hit Me Baby One More Time" hit maker was also quick to explain how the criticisms don't affect her now compare to how they did before.
Just like Spears, Bieber has his own fair share of media scrutiny and various criticisms. In the recent years, the spotlight was on him for being caught on camera while peeing into a restaurant mop bucket in 2013 and a DUI arrest for the following year. Just this year, specifically in the month of January, Bieber was kicked out of a Mayan ruins for drunkenly stripping off and climbing on protected and prohibited areas.
He shared in an interview that he wanted to punch the cop for trying to take him and his buddies out of the spot, but was also quick to re-think his impulsive and immature actions. Meanwhile, Spears own set of personal issues played out very publicly back in 2007 after her split from her second husband Kevin Federline.
