Christina Aguilera's name hit the news stands once again, but this time, "The Voice" judge was criticized for her mothering skills, as reported by the Toronto Sun. Aguilera and husband Matt Rutler were out for a family moment last Sunday in Brentwood California. The couple were off to a good start until the Nate Modd Band guitarist took little Summer Rain into the driver's seat with him.
Although the toddler wasn't holding the wheel directly and she was too small to even see over the wheel, the daughter of the popular singer was pictured by TMZ sitting on Rutler's lap while driving a black Range Rover. Close-up pictures from TMZ showed that Rutler placed Summer Rain on one knee, dangerously balancing the toddler. Rutler drove about 100 yards before pulling into a parking lot to buy a cold beverage.
According to the Toronto Sun, driving a child on your lap is a violation of state traffic laws. If they were caught, they could have been fined a $475 ticket as a first offence. The article also continued that this is not the first time Rutler has committed something that required extreme concern. It appears that friends close to the couple have feared that Aguilera may have given him too much financial freedom and might squander her fortune.
Christina Aguilera has not yet commented on the issue regarding road and child safety. Luckily no one was reportedly hurt and the world is just happy to see little Summer Rain safe and sound.
