It was a good thing that UFC president Dana White and the security team were there to break up the heated tension between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz or else there would have been a surprise brawl. In a scheduled press conference, McGregor seemed to have an issue with Diaz propping his arms up, right in front of his face. Diaz may have ignited the Irishman's wrath with his threatening stance because a clear shot was seen from McGregor on his opponent's wrist and he may have injured Diaz permanently.
Surrounding officials and Nick Diaz, Nate's brother, dove in to pull them apart. Viewers can see the fire in McGregor's eyes and his sharp intake of breath, as if he was already poised to strike though Diaz was standing still for the ceremonial "face off" photo shoot. Once they were successfully pulled apart, McGregor poked fun at his opponent saying that Diaz's wrist "will never be the same again," as reported by MMA Mania.
Conor McGregor's first loss (ever) was during UFC 196 at Las Vegas, Nevada. MMA Fighting posted that his Ultimate Fighting Championship career tumbled when he tapped out after Diaz choked him. Then he gave Diaz the win when he explained during the press conference that he thinks Diaz's weight allowed him to absorb his best shots.
McGregor is heartbroken by his defeat and told the press that: "It's a tough pill to swallow, but we can either run from adversity or we can face our adversity head on and conquer it. And that's what I plan to do."
Now, Conor will have to defend his Featherweight title and MMA Fighting forecasts the fight to be included in the UFC 200 on Jul. 9, 2016 in "Sin City" agains Jose Aldo.
