After the long wait for its release, "Uncharted 4" hopefuls were let down when Naughty Dog previously announced that the highly anticipated launch of the fourth installment will be delayed. Instead of its original Apr. 24 launch, the game will now be available by May 10.
"The unthinkable has happened. PlayStation 4 owners will have to wait even longer to get their hands on Uncharted 4: A Thief's End; it's been delayed even further," Pocket Lint reported. "Thankfully though, Sony claims it is only a two week extension. The last two announced delays put the game back months each time. It was originally coming out in the latter part of 2015, then 18 March, then 26 April."
Naughty Dog explained that they needed to push back the release because developers needed "extra manufacturing time" to ensure that they can deliver what they have promised to eager fans. Directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Stanley added that the game "deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for," the publication noted.
Druckmann has also shared what fans can expect in "Uncharted 4." "With Uncharted 4, as we were building it we were realizing more and more what the theme is: it's that balance between pursuing your passions and being with the ones you love, and what happens when you have to choose between those two things," Druckmann told OPM, Gamespot reported.
"Is there a way to reconcile that? That's the message of this game, and everything is constructed around that very simple concept."
Meanwhile, talks have been heavy about a possible installment to the franchise. It has been reported that "Uncharted 4" will be Nathan Drake's last adventure, but rumors are rife about "Uncharted 5."
"The upcoming game is the final entry in the series to star Nathan Drake," Gamespot reported. "Looking to the future, Naughty Dog hasn't ruled out an Uncharted 5, but says it's 'hard to imagine' the franchise without Drake."
