Since "Outlander" season 2 is just around the corner, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan have released some exciting new details about what's coming up for the fans this spring, Inquisitr reported on Monday.
The stars of the show Balfe and Heughan sat down with Entertainment Tonight to speak on exclusive details that the avid fans are going to get, given the fact that the season 2 is just around the corner. They were very excited about what they have created for the people for this year.
The season will pick up where the previous one left off, with Jaime and Claire on their way to France to find a better and more peaceful place to exist, even though being drawn back into the conflict and the resulting Jacobite rebellion is inevitable for them. But until they get help from the French culture and some relatives in the country, that does not happen.
Heughan also told ET that this season of Outlander is definitely a much more detailed and intricate tale that have been built up by different stories. Although, he assured that the complexity of the upcoming episodes would not bore the fans, rather give them a lot to look forward to.
"It feels more complex in a way. These relationships have developed and our relationship has certainly gone into a new place," Heughan said. Complexity in this season may seem like an understatement though, given that Claire is not only pregnant with their child in a rather foreign land, but they are still both intimately involved in the kind of politics in their era which a lot of danger and chaos can possibly arise from.
"I don't think it's ever going to be smooth sailing with these two. We're going to meet some very interesting characters who may become the new enemies of Claire and Jamie - one being the Count of St. Germain," Balfe told ET.
