Yeezus is known to openly voice his opinion from anything to everything. And this time he dabbled in technology and media. Kanye West recently decreed on his Twitter account that he was "thinking about not making CDs ever again."
Kanye West might have just posted his thought aloud. He may not act on it at all. Except he's "put a ring on it." Kanye has shunned the shiny silver disks with an official "Rejected" stamp when he Tweeted again on Monday, saying "No more CDs from me."
Yeezus is planning to stick to streaming music from now on. But is he really going to do it? His Twitter account has been a thread of humor and uncertainty for his 20 million followers for the past few weeks. Like when he asked Mark Zuckerberg for money.
According to PCMag, his decision of dropping CDs in the trash bin may just as well be a good thing because the circular disks have been losing popularity for the last decade since users are now sticking to streaming and digital music. While there are still quite a few who buy CDs, it may soon be just a relic on the shelves.
Do you think he'll make his latest album "The Life of Pablo" available in CD version? That isn't known yet, but he did release his album exclusively under Jay Z's streaming service - Tidal. Maybe he will stick to his Twitter post. Unless he changes his mind.
