If you're a fan of "Harry Potter" then you know that the movies and books didn't explore the world outside the "European" world of magic. This time, author J.K Rowling has chosen to pen "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" which will be set in America. To excite fans, the author has lined up four original stories to be released on Pottermore.
According to Entertainment Weekly, to prepare fans for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," stories detailing the history of magic in the U.S.A. will act as a backstory to the 1920's film. The four stories are aptly titled "The History of Magic in North America."
"The History of Magic in North America" focuses on Ilvermorny (The U.S. Hogwarts version) and Skin-walkers, a Native American lore. That also means fans will be treated to the Salem Witch Trials and a background on the "Magical Congress of the United States of America" too- the Ministry of Magic in the U.S. The Telegraph stages the scene for you: Set in the 1920s in old New York, get ready for Eddie Redmayne, a Ministry of Magic Employee, as he goes off in search of magical creatures that need to be captured.
To recap, this summer J.K Rowling is releasing the "Harry Potter" sequel titled "The Cursed Child" and later in the year, the spin-off movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will premiere on the big screen.
Are you ready for the first story? Check out the debut of the first story on Pottermore this Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2016 at 9:00 AM ET while the other three stories are separately arriving on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively.
