As the season for "Girl Meets World" is underway, more thrills can be expected for the upcoming third sequel. Moreover, there were speculations that the plotline would be transformed and love triangle would not be the main storyline.
According the statement rendered forth by showrunner Michael Jacobs as cited by TheWrap, "This will be answered in Season 3. It will span probably a third to a half of Season 3. Not as primary focus, but always as an underlying thing in existence for the characters."
The same post added on to reveal that season 3 would feature more things that were not dominantly seen in the former season. Also, as the girls resolve their differences, tensions are anticipated to arise.
Furthermore, Jacobs added, "Then when we bring it up to primary, we will resolve it in a way that shows an answer to a much bigger question, which is, how do young people at this age perceive relationships? What is the value of them? And what are our friendships, really? If the audience perceives that what we're talking about is 14-year olds in love, they have missed what we're doing entirely. All of this will explain itself as part of the season."
Looking back, the season was able to showcase the realities that girls undergo in this present generation and the series was able to achieve its goal of relaying that message forth as well, even though there are issues with love affecting friendships and relationships.
In a post from IGN, "Not surprisingly, the weakest aspect of series' season finale was the love triangle, which literally didn't progress at all, to the point that Riley, Maya and Lucas were sitting in the exact same positions as the end of the New Year's episode, staring off into space."
As the next season approaches, the mere idea of not having the love triangle as the main storyline for "Girl Meets World" will surely bring the show to whole new concept and unpredictable plotline.
