What started out as a few-minutes segment on James Corden's "Late Late Show" turned out to be a huge and global success. It may soon join the ranks of segment-turned-show "Lip Sync Battle" that started out in Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show."
Recently, James Corden was busy goofing around in a tuxedo along Tmes Square, New York City and snapping selfies with the NY Police Department. He wasn't there for pleasure as the "Late Late Show" host was busy filming a promo for his long-running segment "Carpool Karaoke," according to the Daily Mail.
Looking dapper, the comedian wasted no time taking photo ops with the city's police officers using his smartphone. Appearing like normal everyday people, the cop and the host then appeared to review the pics taken - probably picking out which one has the best shot for uploading to a social network.
"Carpool Karaoke" has turned out to be a viral internet and television sensation. It had the likes of A-lister celebrities, namely, Justin Bieber and Adele guesting on the show. The segment starts off with Corden driving around Los Angeles with an artist. Soon, the music gets turned on and the two sing along to the celebritiy's biggest hits while on the road. Which makes it not surprising to see James Corden busy running a promo for "Carpool Karaoke."
The Hollywood Reporter has it that Corden was tipped to be the executive producer if the segment gets picked up to become a full-length show. However, the same article cited that he will not be hosting alone.
