54 Loaded Guns at Airports Says TSA Last Week: Inert Grenades, Blades, and Ammunition Discovered; Passenger with Prosthetic Leg Arrested [VIDEO]

The TSA found 65 guns total in the last week at different airports across the country, 54 of them were loaded, 19 had rounds chambered. One Salt Lake City passenger was found with a loaded gun strapped to his prosthetic leg inside his boot, he was later arrested.

The TSA shares that these incidents happen too often, and that, most of the time, they are only due to people forgetting that they had brought a firearm with them.

"Unfortunately these sorts of occurrences are all too frequent which is why we talk about these finds. Sure, it's great to share the things that our officers are finding, but at the same time, each time we find a dangerous item, the throughput is slowed down and a passenger that likely had no ill intent ends up with a citation or in some cases is even arrested."

"The passenger can face a penalty as high as $7,500.00. This is a friendly reminder to please leave these items at home," states TSA in a statement.

"Please keep in mind that if an item looks like a realistic bomb, grenade, mine, etc., it is prohibited — real or not... I know they are cool novelty items, but you cannot bring them on a plane."

The TSA also found stun guns, inert grenades, ammunition, and a few razor blades.

2.3 million travelers are expected to fly during the Memorial Day weekend.
