Apple Unveils Faster MacBook That Offers Longer Battery Life

Apple announced last week that it will release an upgrade of its compact laptop MacBook. The latest gadget will be equipped with a faster processor and an improved battery. The color to boot is exquisite - gold.

When the tech giant launched the original MacBook, critics were saying that is was terribly underpowered which undermined its remarkably sharp 12-inch retina display and convenient thin frame.

But this current iteration shows that Apple is trying to enhance its speed having equipped the gadget with the sixth-generation dual-core Intel Core M processors.

Now, the Cupertino, CA-based company claims that the MacBook has 25 percent faster graphic performance, and most importantly, the new enhanced battery offers "up to 10 hours of wireless web browsing and up to 11 hours of iTunes movie playback."

This new MacBook refresh will have speeds of up to 1.3 GHz, and Turbo Boost as much as 3.1 GHz. The computer will also have 1866 MHz RAM and HD Graphics.

Apple fans will have two options with respect to standard processors; the first is the 1.1 GHz Core m3 with Turbo Boost of up to 2.2 GHz and offered in a package containing 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of disk storage. This option costs $1.299.

The other option is the 1.2 GHz core m5 that comes with a Turbo Boost of as much as 2.7 GHz in a package containing 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of disk space. This package is tagged at $1,599.

"MacBook is the thinnest and lightest Mac we have ever made and it's our vision for the future of the notebook", said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

"Customers are going to love this update to MacBook, with the latest processors, faster graphics, faster flash storage, longer battery life and a beautiful rose gold finish," he added.
