In his attempt to spur interest on his new generation iPhones, Tim Cook, Apple CEO recently said, "We are going to give you things that you can't live without, that you just don't even know you need today...You will look back and wonder 'how did I live without this?"
His remarks were motivated by his desire to stimulate customers' interest in his new products due to the dismal sales performance of these products which he recently launched.
Apple has recently launched its 4-inch iPhone SE and also a mini 9.7-inch iPad Pro. After the event, the compact was immediately put on sale. However, Localytics reported that it only accounted to a minuscule 0.1 percent of the iPhone market in its first-weekend sale.
In Apple's experience, this is its lowest first-weekend sales for any current iPhone released in the previous five years. The iPhone 6 has a better adoption rate of 2 percent, while its nearest sibling, the iPhone 6s, was able to manage 1 percent.
In an interview with the CNBC, Cook claimed that the next-generation iPhone, he calls iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be brilliant. He boasted that the iPhones his company is currently developing will surely win over current iPhone users and will induce them to upgrade when they are released.
Cook also said his company is "incredibly excited" regarding the product it is working on and makes a technical acquisition every couple of months. However, a report said the Apple CEO's statements are rather vague and do not give any clue as to what he is hinting at.
However, iPhone fans should still take stock of what Cook is saying. The last time he made similar announcements, his company experienced a run that resulted in the best fiscal quarter in its history. So, it pays to be attentive to what he is talking about.
